Rotterdam after lockdown second post

This is the second post after the lock down, shot in early May 2021. More shops were reopening. Face masks were still obliged but you could shop without making an appointment. Due to the fact that the number of customers was still limited, some shops had long waiting lines of people waiting to get in. Bars were reopened, but only outside on the terrace; inside was still closed.

Rotterdam reopening after complete lockdown

In my first post of 2021 a series of photos shot in Rotterdam at the end op March 2021, just after the complete lock down. Shops were reopening but only with a very limited number of customers after making an appointment. The evening clock was still in place and bars and restaurants were still closed, so there was only food and drinks to go.

Rotterdam city center during COVID-19 (Corona) crisis

As the world is facing the COVID-19 (Corona) crisis the world has changed dramatically in a short time. Cities are locked down. People stay at home and have to held a distance of 1,5 or 2 meters between them. Busy cities turn into ghost towns. This series is shot in the Rotterdam city center during the Corona crisis, on a Saturday afternoon from 12 am to 2 pm. Normally one of the busiest moments of the week, with the market, people shopping and lots of tourists. Now there is hardly anybody in the streets.

Normally one of the busiest places in the city with the market!
